Night Cityscapes Around the World: A Photo Collection

Looking through these photos, I realized that night cityscape photography is not only about bright lights. Some images are about scale—the endless windows and illuminated skylines seen from above. Some are about landmarks, where towers, bridges, and historic buildings become symbols of a place. Others are more atmospheric: lanterns during Chinese New Year, a cyclist passing through the glow of streetlights, or a city scene glimpsed through a taxi window.

For me, the most interesting part of photographing cities at night is noticing how different each city feels. Some cities look futuristic and energetic. Some feel elegant and composed. Some are full of local cultural details, while others feel almost cinematic. The lights may be the first thing we see, but what I hope to capture is the personality behind them.
